Get Help

Support. Safety. No judgment. All of our services are free, confidential, and available to survivors age 11 and up in Monroe County.

You Have Options

We know that seeking help can feel overwhelming. That’s why our team meets you with compassion and lets you decide what support feels right for you. Here’s what you can expect:

Crisis Intervention

Our trained advocates are available to talk through what happened, help you understand your options, and support you in the way that feels best for you—whether that’s just talking, making a safety plan, or connecting to additional care.

Forensic Exams (SANE Exams)

You have the right to a medical-forensic exam, also known as a SANE exam, at no cost.

  • You do not need to report to law enforcement to receive care.

  • Our Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) are specially trained to offer trauma-informed exams, collect forensic evidence (if desired), and provide emergency contraception and HIV prevention as needed.

  • You may stop the exam at any time. It is your choice, every step of the way.

Note: If possible, try not to bathe, eat, or change clothes before the exam—but don’t worry if you already have. Evidence may still be collected.

Counseling & Therapy

Our therapist provides trauma-informed care for survivors of all genders, backgrounds, and experiences.

  • Sessions are offered in person or virtually

  • No insurance is required

  • We’ll work with you to find the right pace and frequency

  • Therapy is always free of charge

Legal Advocacy & Victim Support

You may have questions about your rights, legal options, or whether to report what happened. We’re here to guide—not pressure—you. We can help with:

  • Understanding your legal rights

  • Filing for restraining orders (injunctions)

  • Navigating Title IX at school or workplace accommodations

  • Applying for victim compensation

  • Speaking with law enforcement or prosecutors (if and when you are ready)

  • Support in court, including attending hearings with you

To every survivor:

What happened to you is not your fault.
You are not alone.
Your healing matters—and we’re here to walk with you.

Whether you're seeking immediate help or exploring your options, Christina’s Courage is a safe, welcoming place to start.
